Performers Sought to Audition for Second Annual “Happy Valley’s Got Talent” Show
Open auditions for the second annual “Happy Valley’s Got Talent” Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 14– 15, at Indigo night club in State College, Pa. All types of performing acts from vocalists to dancers to comics and more are invited to audition in four age divisions. The 12 best acts will advance to the finals on April 28.
There is no fee to participate, and all performers are asked to register online prior to the audition dates, although in-person registration will be possible on the days of the auditions, space allowing. Auditions for almost all performers will take place 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday, April 14, and 10 a.m.6 p.m., Sunday, April 15. Pianists will be auditioned separately 9–10:30 a.m., Saturday only at the State Theatre in State College. Audition information and registration forms are available at www.tidesprogram.org.

The Secret Life of Public Spaces culminates with festival of events
Penn State’s Center for the Performing Arts, faculty and students in two Penn State colleges and Los Angeles dance theater Diavolo have been collaborating for 18 months on a Creative Campus Innovations Grant Program called The Secret Life of Public Spaces. The culminating events of the project take place April 10 to 20, and the public is invited to experience each of the mostly free offerings.
The festival of creativity includes participants from Penn State’s Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Dance, and Engineering programs. Diavolo’s April 19 performance at Eisenhower Auditorium features the world premiere of Transit Space, a work inspired by extreme skateboarding culture that was commissioned by the Center for the Performing Arts.
