Annual Elves Gift Shop - December 8
On Saturday, December 8, 2012 the Junior Woman’s Club of State College will host their
Annual Elves’ Gift Shop at the State College High School South Building. The Junior
Woman’s Club has hosted the Elves’ Gift Shop for over thirty years and it is our Club’s
major fundraiser. The gift shop is designed to allow children to purchase reasonably
priced crafts and gifts for family members, friends, teachers and pets with the help of
“elves”. These “elves” are young volunteers from our community, typically Girl Scouts.
Parents can relax and enjoy coffee and snacks while their children shop. The event also
includes a holiday raffle, gift vendors and snack bar for the adult shopper.
The recipient of proceeds from the 2012 Elves’ Gift Shop will be TIDES. TIDES mission is to provide safe and nurturing peer support programming for children, adolescents and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Tides will also raise awareness of the needs of grieving children in our schools and surrounding communities. In addition to peer support groups, Tides provides referral services, adult telephone support, educational resources for grieving children and families, and resources for schools and other professionals in the community who work with children.
Last year, we were able to contribute $7300 as a result of Elves’ Gift Shop. Our goal this year is $8000. To make the Elves’ Gift Shop a success and achieve our goal, we rely on the support of community leaders to provide operational funds in exchange for a promotional opportunity and visibility at the event. This is a great way to promote your company while making a significant contribution to your community. We hope that you will support us in this year’s efforts!
Through the generosity of community leaders like you, Elves’ Gift Shop will continue to be a successful fundraising event for local non-profit agencies that help better our community. We thank you in advance for your support.
