Buika, the daughter of political refugees from the tiny West African nation Equatorial Guinea, grew up on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca. Presented by the YMCA of Centre County, in cooperation with the Penn State Forestry Students. The Festival of Trees has become one of the many great traditions in Centre County. Businesses, families, school groups, and other organizations sponsor and decorate trees competing for prizes. Once decorated, the trees are on display for all to see during the event. Throughout the four days, the Ag Arena is buzzing with musical entertainment, craft sales by local artisans, children’s activities, and the smell of homemade soups.
