Medlar Field at Lubrano Park

The State College Spikes will be hosting a "Winter Wonderland" Open House on Saturday, December 12th at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The event will benefit three local charities: the Salvation Army of State College, the State College Area Food Bank and the Central Pennsylvania Arthritis Foundation.

Gates will open at 12:00 p.m. to a bevy of fun holiday events including behind the scenes tours of the ballpark, activities in the batting cages, interactive kids games, arts and crafts and visits from Ike the Spike, the Nookie Monster and Santa Claus. Fans will also be treated to an assortment of light refreshments.

The Spikes Official team store, Off the Rack Outfitters will be open and will offer fans great holiday gift ideas. 2010 Spikes season tickets and flex books will also be on sale for purchase.

In lieu of admission, fans are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to the Salvation Army of State College or a non-perishable food item to be donated to the State College Area Food Bank. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to register to run in the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk which will be departing from Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at 1:30 p.m. All kids are invited to participate in the “Candy Lane Shuffle” run on the field at 2:30 p.m.
